Comrades!
As you have probably heard, the leadership of
Post 300 has changed abruptly. Commander Joseph Young has
resigned his position, effective 12 November, 2010. The Executive
committee will hold a meeting on Nov 15th @ 7pm, where I will pass on
this information.
Although we are saddened at this turn of events, it does not deter us
from our purpose. The average American Legion Post does not
revolve around any one individual. Therefore, we will not
let this change impede us in the pursuit of our goals, which are service
to the Community, State, and Nation. We have for some time
now had a large number of activities on our agenda. I do
not believe that we should let this turn of events affect our plans.
We have a Wonderful Post! Our
Canteen Manager, Angela Sears, is doing an awesome job, and we all need
to continue giving her our support. She doesn't realize
it, but she truly is the backbone of our success!! Kudos
also go to Leonard Sorbel, Dana Moran, Anne Marie Wiley and Karen Lindskog,
our bartenders!
But you, the members, are the the real driving force behind the Post
and its success or failure. I am proud of each and everyone of
you! Your contributions are invaluable to our success. Thank
you for all you do. Our goal is to make this Post an inviting
place of respect for all of our members and guests.
The members of this Post do that! We have a big schedule of events for
this calendar year, and with your help, we will make them happen! I
am proud to have the opportunity to serve as your Post Commander. I
pledge to do the best job I can for you but I know I will need your
support as we go forward. Here's to a GREAT 2010 FINISH,
and a more prosperous 2011! Thanks for all you do!
